REACH / RoHS
REACH is a system for registration, evaluation and authorization of chemical substances, imported or manufactured in the EU. The purpose of the REACH system is to manage the risks of chemicals, such as the risks of toxic disasters, fires and explosions, damage to health workers and consumers, and damage to the environment.
RoHS refers to the Restriction of Hazardous Substances. RoHS is a directive with the aim of reducing the use of six substances banned in the electronic industry. As listed in Annex II of the Directive, the six substances are:
- Lead (Pb)
- Mercury (Hg)
- Cadmium (Cd)
- Chromium VI (Cr6+(hexavalent chromium))
- PBB (polybrominated biphenyls : flame retardants used in some plastics)
- PBDE (polybrominated diphenyl ethers : flame retardants used in some plastics)
CDS and REACH / RoHS
By accepting an order from CDS electronics our suppliers confirm to the RoHS and REACH legislation and are asked to report any deviations. Only in those situations where a leaded soldering process is requested by the client leaded solder (paste) is used.
To the best of our knowledge, by this approach, our products do not contain substances on the SVHC list with a concentration higher than legally defined.
RoHS: RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU
REACH: Regulation No. 1907/2006
